    Papilloma removal

Papillomas are small benign growths found on the skin of both dogs and cats. Papillomas are much more common in dogs and can sometimes be seen large numbers. Typically they are of no concern but can become a problem if the dog is scratching or licking at them. Papillomas can easily be removed using electrocautery with a local pain block. Essentially the papillomas are burned off and no sutures are necessary. Anesthesia is not always indicated depending on the size of the papilloma and how many are to be removed.
