    Cherry eye

“Cherry eye” is a condition where the gland of the third eyelid prolapses. Owners may notice a redish/pink, fleshy, bump in the inner corner of the eye. Occasionally both third eyelids are affected. This typically requires surgical intervention. If left untreated the gland may hypertrophy or a condition called “dry eye” may form. There are several types of methods to correct the problem. Our surgeons will discuss the procedure, prognosis, and aftercare with you and answer any questions you might have.
