    Fracture repairs

Understanding physics plays a large part in understanding fracture repair. Depending on the type and location of the fracture, as well as taking the patient into consideration will determine the type of repair method used. Fractures may need to be casted, pinned, plated, wired, or have an external fixator applied. Radiographs (x-rays) will be obtained before and after fracture repair to determine which method of fixation will be used and to ensure proper alignment and placement of hardware (surgical pins, etc…).
