The Medicine You Were Meant For
Careers at Meridian Veterinary Hospital
You chose veterinary medicine for a reason.
Maybe more than one.
As your career grows, those reasons shape what you look for in a practice, the way you provide care, the people you choose to work with, and the life you build beyond it.
After 80 years of serving the pets and people of the Treasure Valley, we know what matters to us, too.
Let’s see what we have in common.
Keep Getting Better
Knowing more than you did yesterday. Performing a new skill without having to think about it. Having someone turn to you with a question — and being able to help.
Those little moments add meaning to your days and purpose to your work. Our team is always eager to share what they know, brainstorm solutions, and help you try something new, take on more, and experience the satisfaction of a job well done.
Know and Be Known
Your contributions are important, but at Meridian, you matter more.
Here, relationships are built on genuine curiosity, concern, and trust. It’s why many families have trusted us for generations, and why the people here are connected by more than a shared work schedule.
No matter what brings us together — a difficult day, a celebration, or a home-cooked meal — people make time for people here.
And there’s room for you, too.
Some Things Matter More Than Numbers
A client needs a few more minutes to understand. Someone on the team needs a little flexibility or a little extra grace.
Decisions look different when you start with the person, rather than a protocol.
Being privately and family-owned gives us the freedom to make those decisions when they matter – and always with people and patients in mind.
While it may not always make perfect business sense, it makes people sense.
And that’s what matters to us.
Work Hard. Live Well.
Your work can mean a lot to you without being everything to you.
When the day is done, there should still be time and energy for dinner with your family, a quiet walk with your dog, an ordinary errand, or a hobby that brings you joy.
Because these are the moments that make life yours. We want you to have them.
When you’re here, we ask you to be present, work hard, and care about what you do.
When you’re not, we want you to give that same attention to whatever matters to you.

Room To Practice Your Way
There’s more than one way to be a great veterinarian.
At Meridian Veterinary Hospital, you’ll be encouraged to use your own clinical judgment, build on your strengths, and explore or develop the areas of medicine that interest you most. And while you don’t have to practice exactly like the veterinarian beside you, it’s nice to know their support and perspective are never far away.
Because while we encourage independence, we also know that making medicine your own doesn’t mean having to figure it out on your own.
That is the true vision for Meridian Veterinary Hospital: an environment where you can practice exceptional medicine, look out for one another, and truly dedicate yourself to the veterinary work you love.
Focus On The Medicine
Good medicine depends on more than what you know. It also requires having the time, people, and tools to put that knowledge to work. For us, that includes:
3–4:1 Support Staff Ratio
Dedicated technicians, assistants, client service, and med techs help keep your attention where it’s needed most.
20–30 Minute Appointments
More time to focus on the patient, communicate with clients, and practice thoughtfully.
Clinical Resources
A two-table surgery suite, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, laser therapy, in-house laboratory and pharmacy, reference lab access, and digital records with ScribbleVet — so you can do more and keep learning.
Your Contributions Count
You’ll come to Meridian with your own strengths, experiences, interests, and ideas – but you’ll share in our commitment to caring well.
That means practicing with integrity, taking the time to understand your clients, respecting every team member, and knowing when another perspective could make good veterinary care even better.
It means staying curious enough to keep learning and generous enough to teach – because you have something to add here.
We invite you to share it with us.
